Our primary fundraising event, the Sounds & Tastes of the Americas, was held Saturday, April 24, 2010 and was a resounding success. Over 300 guests were treated to the tantalizing tastes of Latin American and Caribbean cuisine and our silent and live auctions provided guests with the opportunity to bid on over 150 donated items, many of which originate in our project countries. The evening also featured music and dance performances. To date, this event has raised over $220,000 in support of our projects. Both attendance and revenues exceed our expectations and we are grateful to our guests, donors, corporate sponsors and volunteers who help make this event such an incredible success! Thanks also go to our host Adrian Harewood and auctioneer Lawrence Greenspon.
