Since 2001, Acceso International has been supporting Centro Integral WARMI in the city of Cochabamba. Centro Integral WARMI is a women's outreach centre that provides a safe learning environment and critically needed educational and employment alternatives to marginalised children, youth and women. Acceso International provides educational resources for use in the homework room, the library, the daycare and the music centre. Acceso International is also supporting a bursary program for adolescents and a skills training centre for women.
Acceso International and Centro Integral WARMI have collaborated to offer an annual series of human rights workshops on gender equality, justice, peace, health, the environment and community leadership. The workshops also address the prevention of violence and disease, including HIV/AIDS. This project educates and empowers underprivileged and underserved women, youth, children, indigenous people and displaced migrants through services in their own language and within their own cultural environment. Acceso International is delighted to be accompanying the inter-generational participants on their journeys towards safety, dignity, identity, peace, equality and justice.
Acceso International is thoroughly impressed with the efficiency and effectiveness of Centro Integral WARMI. The professionalism of the staff and the dedication of the students are noteworthy attributes of this much needed centre. We are also proud of our collaboration with this centre because of its commitment to the principles of equality and solidarity.
