Acceso International is currently involved with various education programs in The Bahamas, Bolivia, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Peru.
Please note that for reasons pertaining to dignity, respect for privacy, as well as personal safety, we do not reveal the identity of our recipients. In addition, Acceso International prefers not to further the exploitation of children through the indiscriminate use of their images. Therefore, we have carefully selected photos that depict our work on a collective level. Furthermore, rather than dwell on problems and challenges, our selection of pictures is designed to celebrate our shared progress.
We are very proud of these projects and the opportunities that they create for thousands of children, youth and women in Latin America and the Caribbean. While we are pleased with the quantity of students that we have been able to assist, we are prouder of the quality outcome of our efforts. The smiles on the children’s faces when they receive a pair of shoes to walk to school, the teachers’ gratitude for books and chalk in their classrooms, the principals’ pleasure in opening up a library, and the sense of pride and success experienced by a student upon graduation are among the many results that render our volunteer work so worthwhile. We are inspired and motivated by the positive outcomes of our projects and the active efforts of the individuals and organizations with whom we collaborate. We therefore believe that it is worthwhile to continue to support education that will foster greater equality, stability, justice and hope for the people of Latin America and the Caribbean.
