ACCESO INTERNATIONAL in PERU

Since 1998, Acceso International has been sponsoring several post-secondary level students from the municipality of Chincha Alta who are studying in the areas of engineering, nutrition, education, languages, nursing and business at various post-secondary institutions in Lima. Fifteen students have benefited from partial or complete bursaries through this program. Our support defrays the costs of tuition, transportation, books, supplies and accommodations. Access to post-secondary education has been a significant opportunity for these students and their families. To date, ten of the students have graduated, all of whom have found meaningful employment in their fields. Acceso International is very proud of their dedication, responsibility and success!

In the aftermath of the earthquake that struck Peru on August 15, 2007, Acceso International is also supporting the reconstruction of primary schools in Chincha Alta.

“I am taking this opportunity to thank you again for your support that makes my nursing studies possible at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. I want to express the incredible joy that I obtain from these studies especially because it will give me the opportunity to work directly with the most disadvantaged communities and towards more responsive health care and that gives me great satisfaction.” Female student

“I say thank you on behalf of these families who have been given a new start in life knowing that their child can go to school dressed in uniform and carrying the necessary school supplies. How important it is for them to be received into the classroom with dignity and feeling within a great sense of hope for a better future. You make this all possible to the youth of Peru and I say thank you - Gracias.” Project Coordinator in Peru
